SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The Timbers U23s fell short on Friday evening, dropping a PDL match to Lane United FC, 5-0.

Nick Moon and Willie Spurr put the home side in front in the 20th and 22nd minutes with goals, and then Moon found the back of the net again in the 40th minute to make it 3-0 going into the half.

Looking to provide the answer in the second stanza, the Timbers U23s were unable to do so, as Spurr found the net again in the 57th to push the lead to four goals, and Lane United FC scored one more late on to extend the lead to five, ultimately shutting out the Timbers U23s.

The Timbers U23s are back in action on Tuesday, July 3, when they travel north to Sunset Stadium to take on the Sounders U23s. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
