SALEM, Ore. – Daniel Sagno scored a pair of goals on Friday evening in Salem, and that was enough as the Timbers U23s could not find the back of the net in a 2-0 defeat against the TSS FC Rovers.

After a scoreless first half, TSS FC immediately got on the board in the second half when Daniel Sagno scored less than a minute into the stanza off an assist from Janko Vong.

The Timbers U23s pressed and had some golden opportunities with great looks on goal, but the squad couldn’t keep the shots on target, resulting in the deficit remaining at a single goal.

Sagno made it 2-0 late on in the 89th minute when the Timbers U23s had everyone pressed forward, and a ball in behind resulted in a one-on-one opportunity for the TSS FC striker who made it a two-goal lead.

The loss marked the third-straight shutout defeat for the Timbers U23s, as the team has struggled to find the finishing touch as of late.

The Timbers U23s are back in action on Sunday when they host Calgary Foothills FC. Kickoff at McCulloch Stadium is slated for 2 p.m.
