The 2018 campaign kicks off with a preseason tournament in Salem at the Capital FC Complex on April 28 (semifinal) and on May 6 (final). The squad will be taking on Twin City Union FC in that semifinal on the 28th and will then play the winner of PDX FC and South Sound on the May 6 date. The entire tournament is sponsored by Vagabond Brewing.

“I believe the preseason tournament will help our team prepare for the US Open Cup, create team chemistry heading into a challenging PDL schedule, and will allow this year’s team to reconnect with our fans in an intimate venue,” said Timbers U23 head coach Aaron Lewis.

The Timbers U23s then kick off USLPDL play on May 18 north of the border at TSS, leading into a series of five-straight road contests to begin the regular season.

On June 5, the squad is back at home in its home-opener, hosting the Sounders U23s at McCulloch Stadium at 6:30 p.m. That match starts a string of four-straight home contests, including another match against the Sounders U23s on June 22.

In addition during that stretch, the Timbers U23s will host Lane United in a regular-season match at Summit High School in Bend, Ore., presented by the 2018 Timbers U23 presenting sponsor, Tetherow.

“Our Northwest Division is filled with quality teams and established rivalries that will be very exciting to be a part of again this summer,” said Lewis. “The players coming from all around the world this summer know that playing in Salem, Ore., is special. Connecting those guys to our city is something I am looking forward to very much.”

In late June, the squad heads to the road for a pair of contests before finishing out the regular season at home in early July with games against the three Canada squads (TSS, Calgary, & Victoria).

All Timbers U23 home games besides the one vs. Lane in Bend will be played in Salem at McCulloch Stadium.

The Timbers U23s are the defending USLPDL Northwest Division Champions. Over the last two years, the Timbers U23s have sent 13 players and counting on to play at the next level, signing contracts with MLS and USL organizations.
