Danny Day

Danny Day joins the Timbers U23 Staff as Director of Media Relations. Day serves currently as Corban University’s Sports Information Director. During his time at Corban, he has garnered numerous sports information awards at both the conference and national levels.

Day was honored by his peers in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) when he was voted the 2015-16 CCC Sports Information Director of the Year. The NAIA then honored Day with CorbanWarriors.com being named the No. 1 athletic website in the NAIA for the 2015-16 school year.

Day has previously served as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant from 2012 – 2014 at the University of Redlands.  As the graduate assistant, Day earned his Master of Arts in Management through the University of Redlands School of Business, graduating in April 2014.

Originally hailing from Beaverton, Ore., Day got his start in the sports industry when interning with ESPN Sports Radio 1080 The Fan in Portland.  While editing and creating on-air advertisements for ESPN, he interviewed professional athletes from the Portland Timbers and Manchester City FC in addition to preparing other live on-air guests for Primetime.

Also during his collegiate career, Day served as a staff writer for the CougZone – the online magazine dedicated to Washington State University athletics.  On top of writing feature stories for Cougar student-athletes such as Klay Thompson, Day covered the inaugural Pac-12 Media Day in Los Angeles during the summer of 2011.

As an Oregon native, Day enjoys soccer, basketball, ping pong, hiking, and skiing in his spare time and loves cheering on the Portland Timbers and the Portland Trailblazers.  He currently resides with his wife Tori in Jefferson.
