Timbers U23s Stumble to Sounders U23s, 4-0

SEATTLE, Wash. – It was a tough night on the road for the Timbers U23s up north, as the squad lost in the Cascadia rivalry match vs. the Sounders U23s, 4-0.

It was an absolute battle during the first 45 minutes, but neither side could find the breakthrough, sending the match into the halftime break deadlocked at 0-0.

The second half was a different story, however, as Santiago Patino scored in the 61st to give the Sounders U23s a 1-0 lead. In the 69th minute, Trevor Jensen then scored off a block shot to make it 2-0.

In the 75th, the home side made it a three-goal lead via a goal from Phillip Lund, while Eddie Na scored to make it 4-0 in the 85th minute and seal the win for the Sounders U23s.

The Timbers U23s return home for their final three matches of the 2018 PDL season. They will host the TSS FC Rovers on Friday at 6:30 p.m. before taking on Calgary Foothills FC on Sunday at 2 p.m. The final regular-season match is slated for Wednesday, July 11, at 6:30 p.m. vs. the Victoria Highlanders FC.
