SALEM, Ore. – The Timbers U23s announced on Friday the first wave of returning players from last year’s team that would be coming back to Salem in 2018 to play for the Timbers U23 PDL squad. Benji Michel, Rey Ortiz, and Gio Magana-Rivera, who all compete for the University of Portland, are all set to be back with the Timbers U23 team this summer, pending league approval.

Another wave of returners will be announced next week, with players from the 2017 Timbers U23 PDL Division Championship team set to come back to Salem in 2018.

Michel, Ortiz, and Magana-Rivera were all key pieces to last year’s Northwest Division Championship squad, and all were dynamic players up in Portland for the Pilots this past fall.
