TIMBERS U23 ANNOUNCE 2019 SCHEDULE

SALEM, Ore. – The Timbers U23s announced the team’s 2019 USL League Two schedule, putting on paper the preseason matches and full slate of regular season League Two games.

The 2019 campaign kicks off with preseason matches held in Salem at the John Chambers Turf Field (CFC) beginning May 5th. The squad will take on PDX FC, followed by TFA U23 on May 8, then Snohomish FC May 11th.

Head Coach, Aaron Lewis is looking forward to this season stating, “The names and programs we are set to partner with this summer are really exciting.”

Following the three preseason games, the Timbers U23s will start the official USL League Two season off the weekend of May 17 north of the border against TSS and Victoria.

May 24 stands as the home-opener as the team is back, hosting the Sounders U23s at McCulloch Stadium at 7:00 p.m. Following that match, the squad will head down to host Lane United at Summit High School in Bend, Ore., presented by the 2019 Timbers U23 presenting sponsor, Tetherow. The team will be back in action at McCulloch Stadium the weekend of May 31 to take on Calgary Foothills. After this, the team will go on a three-game road stretch taking on Lane United, Seattle Sounders U23, and Victoria Highlanders.

“Over the last couple of seasons we have proven without a doubt, that the best college players in the country come through Salem,” says Lewis. “This summer will be no different. We expect an exciting brand of soccer, while competing again for a division championship.“

In late June, the squad will finish off their 2019 home matches against TSS and Victoria Highlanders. The Timbers U23 will finish their season mid-July on the road, competing against Lane United and Seattle Sounders U23.

All Timbers U23 home games besides the one vs. Lane in Bend will be played in Salem at McCulloch Stadium.

The Timbers U23s were the USLPDL Northwest Division Champions back in 2017. Over the last two years, the Timbers U23s have sent over 15 players and counting to play at the next level, signing contracts with MLS and USL organizations.
