FIVE NEW STANDOUTS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY ARE HEADED TO SALEM

Saint Mary’s College of California standout Goalkeeper, Remi Prieur, amongst the list of newcomers for the Timbers U23 roster.

SALEM, Ore. – The Timbers U23 announced today five new players from around the country who are set to join the 2019 squad.

The list of newcomers begins with standout Goalkeeper, Remi Prieur, from Saint Mary’s College of California who was named first in the country for save percentage (.873), tied for first in the country in shutouts with a total of 14, and named second in the country for goals against average (.387). Prieur earned All-American recognition while receiving the “Goalkeeper of the Year” award and first team honors this past season. Prieur also led the WCC (West Coast Conference) in goals against average, shutouts, and save percentage and helped lead his team to be crowned WCC Champions for the second time in program history. Prior to his time at St. Mary’s, Prieur played club soccer for USSDA Academy San Jose Earthquakes and was listed as the 8th rated prospect in the Northern California/Hawai’i region by Top Drawer Soccer.

John Denis – MF/F – Columbia University (Earned Ivy League Player of the Week Honors while previously a U.S. National Team player. Denis was a two-time all-state and all-region honoree and broke a single game school record by netting five goals in a game, while breaking the single season record with 31 scores. Denis also played for the New York Soccer Club as well as for the Beachside Soccer Club of the United States Soccer Federations Development Academy.)

Sebastien Hauret – MF – Old Dominion (Originally from Paris, France, Hauret was named to the C-USA Third Team All-Conference while also being named to the C-USA All-Tournament Team back in 2017.)

Tulio Melo – MF – Rocky Mountain College – (Cascade Conference, originally from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Melo received First-Team All Conference in 2017 and 2018 as well as National Defensive Player of the Week in 2017.)

Roko Prsa MF – University of Massachusetts Lowell (2018 America East All-Conference Second Team member while also listed on the 2018 United Soccer Coaches All-Northeast Region Third Team.)
